By default when you install Windows Vista or Windows 7 on your machine, the Run command is not present in the Start menu. However you can use the search box on the start menu and type “Run” without the quotes to access the run command or just pressing Win + R on your keyboard. If you often use the RUN command you can permanently put it back on the start menu by following these simple steps.

Click on Start Menu >> Control Panel and selecting Taskbar and Start Menu

or Right-Click on Start Menu then click on Properties. In the Taskbar and Start Menu properties, click on the Start Menu Tab then click on Custumize button

In the Custumize Start Menu, scroll down and click on Run Command check box to show the run command in the Start Menu. Click on OK button.
